First Date Advice: Who Should Pay?

You finally gained the courage to ask that special person out on a date.   You’ve put some thought into what you are going to do, and now comes the next important question.   Who should pay for the first date?

My answer is the same no matter who asked who out.   The man should always pay for the first date.   Even if it’s the woman who asked him out.

This is my advice for who should pay for the first date.   But the woman should be prepared to pay, especially if she asked him out.

A good judge of how the first date is going is who offers to pay for the first date.   If both parties are eager to pay for the first date, then the date is going well, and each of them is showing their appreciation.

If one person offers to pay their half of the date, then things aren’t going so hot.   It’s an okay time, but they really can’t wait to end the date, and the first date will probably be the last.

If one person doesn’t even offer to pay for the first date, and it is expected that the other is going to pay, it shows a lack of respect for the other person.

A good man will always  pay for the first date, even if he didn’t have a great time and thinks a friendship is more likely than a relationship.   A good woman will always offer, even if she doesn’t expect to cover any of the tab.

Don’t think that paying for the first date will lead to sex.   In fact, you really shouldn’t even have sex on the first date.   Sex will make you stupid.   If you’re a woman, the man will surely lose respect for you.   Make him enjoy the chase.

Paying for the first date should ultimately be the man’s responsibility, but woman should at least offer to pay, and definitely be prepared to cover their end just in case.   Offering to pay for the first date is a good indicator of how each person enjoyed themselves, and how likely they are to go out again.
